Our only full day in Washington DC is over.
A very spacious and green city. The National Mall & Memorial Park runs through the city center.
Almost all the famous sights are located here.
We started at the Capitol and walked through it.
Along this route, you can see the Smithsonian Institution, the Washington Monument, the Vietnam War Memorial and Korean War Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial. With a quick detour at the Washington Monument, you can also see the White House.
The area around the Tidal Basin is also worth a visit.
Squirrel lovers, pay attention!
Forget about Central Park in New York, because the National Mall & Memorial Park is a real hotspot.
Finally, we visited the Pentagon. Here, you could feel the tension of the guards and it caused a sense of unease.
Just today, we covered a distance of 16.5 km on foot.
Tomorrow, we have to get up early.
Next stop is St. Louis by plane. We are especially looking forward to this stop!
