After two weeks of vacation, there were then two weeks of the Holiday Program (riding holidays), during which we helped out. It was all led by Holly, who always brought her dog Lulu and her lamb Martha along; the lamb was incredibly cute with its diaper and purple nail polish :) A daily schedule: 9 AM: Meet in the Heads and Boots Room (children and horses are assigned to volunteers) After that, fetch and groom the horses 10 AM: 30 minutes of morning tea After that, saddle the horses, the 1st group rides while all others do poop picking Switch groups 1 hour lunch break like before the lunch break first the 1st group rides then the 2nd unsaddle the horses, take them away, clean the box Different activities were done each day: -Monday: Normal -Tuesday: Riding on bareback pads -Wednesday: Jumping -Thursday: Obstacle/Item day (the whole hall was filled with an obstacle course) -Friday: Fun/Game day During the Holiday Program, one of the fellow volunteers also had a birthday, and we baked a mole cake. 😋
One horse was not doing well, and the vet found heart problems, so unfortunately, the horse had to be euthanized because it did not improve.
