In the last few days, we explored the surroundings of Auckland. After being completely fed up with Auckland, as the city and the hostel were really annoying us, we finally saw some highlights.
The biggest highlight of all is that Dirk won us our beer supply for tonight in Beer Pong and can now call himself the King of Beer Pong, after we were so close in the final last week ;)
The organizational matters are finally taken care of, so we can start the job tomorrow.
We were in Devonport with a beautiful view of Auckland and its volcanoes like Mt Eden, and on Rarotonga, a volcanic island. The name Rarotonga translates to 'the place where blood spurted from the sea'. The island consists of layers of lava formed during the 200-year eruption.
The other pictures were taken in and around Piha.
The Kiwis place a lot of value on their nature; you have to brush and disinfect your shoes before every hiking trail.
