Since we don't have to change campsites today, we agreed last night to sleep in without an alarm clock. Our oldest one wants a bottle at 9:30 a.m. It doesn't take long and the little giggler is also ready for the day.
It has been raining all night and the weather is still lousy. Unfortunately, the weather forecast was right. We decide to have a leisurely breakfast, but unfortunately, there is no improvement. Nevertheless, we decide to go on a trip to the city. We gather all our rain gear from umbrella to poncho to rain pants and set off.
First, we need an Opal card for public transport. We buy it at the gas station. We take the L90 bus and drive for about an hour to the harbor area. Unfortunately, it is still raining and we make the kids in the stroller rainproof. First, we want to go to the Harbour Bridge. To get us all up, we have to carry the stroller up four stairs. Despite the lousy weather conditions, the view is fantastic. In the harbor, there is the cruise ship Ovation of the Seas (we research in the evening: 348 m long, 41 m wide, 2,090 cabins, 4,188 passengers, construction costs $950 million). We spend the rest of the afternoon/evening exploring the harbor area on foot, including the opera house. At 7 p.m. we take the ferry (Samuel is quite disappointed, he would rather ride the big blue ship - the Ovation of the Seas) back to the campsite via Manly and Bus 155.
We cook sausages with sauerkraut. The kids fall asleep quickly tonight. They were pretty exhausted (Samuel didn't sleep during the day today).
AND: It's still raining or raining again!
