Bruno is growing up.

Publié: 26.08.2019

Our baby is growing up so fast. It feels like just yesterday he was a tiny little baby, and now he's almost not a baby anymore. He has made incredible leaps in development in just two months. At the beach, he learned how to sit and crawl. He has become more mobile and is exploring his surroundings and the world with great enthusiasm. In Norway, he started pulling himself up on us and now on objects as well. So now he's already on two feet!

He is currently teething his upper incisors. Unfortunately, this comes with some pain and his gums are red and swollen. He often cries at night and has trouble drinking as a result. We give him homeopathic remedies and teething oil, hoping that this will soon pass!

Right now, Bruno loves playing with plastic bottles. He enjoys dropping them from things to see if they will fall to the ground. When he's outside, he likes playing with rocks, and occasionally one ends up in his mouth. He particularly enjoys knocking down towers and takes great delight in it. When he plays on his own, we often hear him talking and making sounds.

As for food, Bruno wants to try everything. However, he hasn't had a full meal yet. So far, he has enjoyed noodles, gnocchi, fruits, vegetables, and bread. We are still exclusively breastfeeding, which doesn't seem to bother either of us.

Occasionally, we have started setting boundaries for Bruno. He already understands the word 'no' very well. But of course, like every child, he tests how far he can push the limits. He demands our rules to gain a sense of security in this new world.

Traveling in a motorhome with a baby has been going very well. Since Bruno doesn't have a fixed routine yet, we are not tied to any specific schedule. He is happy to go along with whatever we do. He just wants to be with us - no matter where we are. The bad weather in the past few weeks has limited his ability to move around. There isn't enough space inside the motorhome when it's cold and wet outside. He can crawl and play outside much better when the sun is shining. Other than that, the limited space doesn't bother us much. We can easily handle meal preparation and hygiene. We even shower Bruno in the motorhome. We are neglecting potty training at the moment because it's difficult to manage with a portable potty. And all three of us are looking forward to taking a bath in the tub!
