8th and final round at Golf d'Aro

Publié: 06.11.2024

Today we played once more at our home course, Golf d'Aro in Mas Nou.

The weather forecast promised nothing good; rain and thunderstorms were supposed to accompany us, causing us some concern beforehand. Hampi even wanted to rent a buggy, but I insisted we walk instead.

Hole 1

When we took our first tee shot, no rain clouds were visible in the sky. Cautiously optimistic, we struck the first balls.

The nature along the golf course remains wonderful and delightful to admire. The course still presents itself in its most beautiful light. Some flowers still bloom in vibrant colors, adding a lively atmosphere to the place, almost as if they want to gift us one last display of colors before we part.

Color display

The flowers are like small splashes of color amidst the rich green and the rocks that line the course, giving it its unique character.

The rock formations that rise from the ground in many places seem like silent guardians of the course, providing an impressive backdrop to the holes.

If you look closely, you can see two faces

As hits passed, the air was humid, and the promised storm failed to arrive. Instead, the round developed at a pleasant pace, as if the weather had spared us at the last minute. The clouds lingered at a safe distance, and it remained dry until the last hole.

In the end, we were almost surprised at how favorable fate had been to us. The round of golf, which we had begun with some apprehension, ended relaxed and without a single raindrop. Luckily, we walked. Sometimes it seems the weather god is also a golfer.

After the round, we enjoyed tapas at Forat 19 along with a delicious cava.

It stayed dry!

Today was our last round at Golf d'Aro, marking our farewell to golfing in Spain – at least for this time. The Golf d'Aro has given us many wonderful hours – the spectacular views of the Mediterranean, the challenging greens, and the special atmosphere that only this course can provide. With each hole, we felt that a chapter was coming to an end, but at the same time, we looked forward to what lay ahead.

In four days, we continue towards the Algarve. We know that new adventures and beautiful rounds of golf await us there, and as is often the case in golf, it's the next tee shots that count – and we're excited for them.

What we will do in the next few days is still uncertain. We will report back.
