Atacama to the south

Today I drove south along the Great Salt Lake and then towards Argentina to the two blue lagoons (Miscanti and Miniques). In total, it was a fantastic 300 KM on lonely roads with vastness that we do not know otherwise. Even Arizona is densely populated compared to this. And all of this at 30 degrees (plus!).

The high-altitude sun gave me a proper sunburn, which reminds me of earlier times when people used to say 'you can't get a tan without a sunburn' :-)

The older couple in the photo are the two Greeks from the plane who come from Spili (those in the know will understand), they had a tour there.
