I used my rest day to go for a relaxed bike ride. I started around 10:30 on a route that would take me to the southernmost point of Taiwan. The landscape in the south is drier compared to the green mountains of the previous days. There are many steep cliffs and few beaches. The beach I chose for the sunset was Baisha Beach, where the movie 'Life of Pi' was filmed. The sunset was perfect and cloudless. However, the south is also dominated by tourists. All the villages and popular spots are crowded. I didn't take a photo of the monument at the southernmost point because it was crowded with busloads of people in a small space. It didn't feel right. The beach was also constantly crowded with bus tourists taking photos in the evening. But there are also positive aspects to all of this. Hengchun is a cool and diverse place with a lot of local and international cuisine. It would be a great place to relax for several days. But for me, it was early to bed. The sunset is around 5:45 pm and it gets completely dark by 6:30 pm, which helps me to get tired early.
Best regards to everyone
