Since we have full internet access at the moment, I'm taking advantage of the opportunity to write a post. After Twizel, we made our way to the beautiful Wanaka and spent some unforgettable days there. The highlight in Wanaka was the hike up Roys Peak, a 1578m high mountain... which we happily climbed after 2.5 hours, but with a few more blisters on our feet! After reluctantly and safely handing over the little Honda 'Snoopy', we received the big Toyota 'Tyson'. With him, we will explore the South Island of New Zealand for a total of 3 weeks. On the first night, Jana and I had some back pain from the thin mattress, but we didn't feel it in the following days. I would say we are slowly becoming camper experts! After picking up 'Tyson' in the beautiful Christchurch, we wanted to quickly head to the north of the South Island of New Zealand. The weather was forecasted to be very good in the north, and we wanted to get back to the sun quickly. Our journey to Nelson led us through unbelievably beautiful mountain landscapes where we made stops at various cozy campsites. The Marlborough region was surrounded by vineyards, where we tasted, bought, and slept beside the mountains. Just the right thing for us wine lovers! In Tasman, we took a day trip to Abel Tasman National Park and hiked 25km along the coast. The drive to the northernmost tip of the South Island has been the absolute highlight so far. There, we stopped at an incredibly beautiful campground right on Wharariki Beach.
