London 2018 - Day 5

Thursday, August 30, 2018 – Day 5

Day of the journey home, but with obstacles…

The journey from the Docklands to Heathrow Airport is long, but easy to reach with the DLR and London Underground. We arrived in time for boarding, but the luggage had to be checked in 15 minutes earlier, and the ground staff were not willing to change their minds. So we either flew to Vienna immediately and waited for the luggage on the next flight, or rebooked completely and flew to Vienna together.

Better late than never.

So we spend 6 hours in London Heathrow . Lisa reads a thick tome almost completely and I just deal with all my emails from the previous week of vacation and explore the whole airport. We then write our vacation cards, go out to eat and then it's time to board. Flight OK, car journey OK and home at half past one. Hello darling!
