20.12. First day in kindergarten

After a delicious breakfast, we headed to the cooperative kindergarten in Albada.

In the first picture, you can see Diak, the educator, with the children. The kindergarten here serves as preparation for school and is designed more like frontal teaching from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., with many breaks. The children learn their first French here. The mother tongue in Casamance is mostly Mandinga or Wolof.
