Today is our last day in Finland.
We are leaving Helsinki after packing and organizing everything calmly. Since we have the whole morning, we chose a small peninsula near Helsinki to take a walk and say goodbye to the Baltic Sea.
This decision was excellent. We found beautiful places and, in the end, a beach that is still used for swimming even at this time of year.
We sit there, enjoying the sun, drinking tea, and saying goodbye.
From there to the ferry, it's less than 10 minutes by car. The check-in process is very quick. We have to wait for another 45 minutes until we can board the ship. Our cabin is at the very front, and we can see the direction of travel from the porthole, or we could if the window wasn't so dirty.
We take a walk through the ship's lounge area, have a few more drinks, and then start getting ready to have our dinner.
The ferry departs, marking the farewell from Finland and somehow the farewell of this journey. We are nostalgic and a little sad, but we are also looking forward to going home. This seemingly contradictory feeling will remain.
