Do 23.9. Tromsø

Nai-publish: 23.09.2021

Morning cloudy, later clearing up, then sunny and warm, hardly any wind

After some effort, we manage to buy two day bus tickets via app, then we drive to the university to take a walk in the Arctic Botanical Garden.

This is the northernmost botanical garden in the world. Although not everything is blooming due to the season, we are impressed by the diversity and colorful splendor of the various flowers, stone plants, bushes, and beds that we can walk on small stone-paved paths. These are all plants that grow in cold regions and sometimes at high altitudes.

Then we drive to Prestvatn Park grounds to walk back to the city from there. The round around the lake is a popular jogging route, we encounter many active people, and there are also many kindergarten groups on the way, all equipped with reflective vests!

We do some shopping, Gondula enjoys an ice cream in spring-like temperatures, Gerd takes a detour for more photos, then it's lunch break.

In the afternoon, we visit the Arctic Cathedral and walk up to the cable car, but decide against going up the mountain.
We spend the evening planning the rest of our trip, we also have accommodations booked for the next seven days. In the next three days, we will have no electricity and no running water, as we are in a remote cabin in the Reisa National Park, so we can continue our blog on Sunday.
