After the days in a rather rural environment, we arrive at the tip of the Baja. San José del Cabo awaits us as a holiday resort with two faces. The old part with beautiful buildings and more or less high-quality handicrafts as well as the new part near the sea with marina, hotels and everything that goes with it.
We stroll through the old town and enjoy some beers in a craft brewery.
Since there are only hotels and golf courses between Cabo San Lucas and Cabo San José, the overnight stay is a bit more difficult as there is no possibility to find a campsite, there simply is none, we are standing on the beach. But with the busy MEX1 behind us, some nocturnal beach drivers and the door slamming neighbors from the USA, it is rather suboptimal.
Our Swiss companions skip Cabo San Lucas and continue directly. Background: in Cabo San Lucas there are no two faces, only one. Tourism of the kind one knows from the party boys of this world. Just with Americans. Nevertheless, we drive through to see what we shouldn't miss.
And there's a silver lining. More on that in the next post......
