After a quick breakfast, we headed to the local supermarket, because today we were going to BBQ at Tenaya Lake. It took a while for us to make a selection. Ultimately, we decided on poultry, coarse Italian sausage, various steaks, and cole slaw. We packed everything in the cooler with a lot of ice and off we went.
First, we drove the same route into Yosemite Park that we had driven the day before. Then we continued towards Tioga Pass. Along the way, we stopped, as we often did during today's journey, to enjoy the view and, of course, take some photos. We were able to photograph some deer that seemed accustomed to humans. We also saw a large number of trout in Tenaya Creek.
At noon, we arrived at Lake Tenaya. At this time, we were at an altitude of over 2,400 meters. The lake itself was over 30 meters deep and crystal clear. Picnic areas in the surrounding area invited us to linger. We found a nice spot for grilling. It took a while for the charcoal to do its job, but in the end, there was nothing left of the meat we brought. Completely satisfied, we continued our journey.
We continued up Tioga Pass until we reached an altitude of over 3,000 meters. It was a really beautiful experience for us.
In the early evening, we arrived at today's destination, Bridgeport. After a quick refueling, we spent a bit of time on the terrace of our lodge and then went to bed. Good night!
