Today was another hiking day.
Temperatures were optimal, we were in good spirits and had a goal: the 'Velika Planina'
An elevated plateau in the Julian Alps.🏔
A short drive and we found the parking lot of the cable car. But of course, we hiked up.
8km of steep climbing that was quite challenging.
But the panorama at the top was fantastic. Plenty of happy cows.
Everywhere small huts inhabited by alpine herdsmen from June to September.
We of course also had a good meal up there. Enjoyed the views for a bit longer, then we took the chairlift and cable car back down to the valley.
It was quick compared to the ascent.
On the way back, we visited Giro Italia and Tour de France winner Tadej Pogacar in his hometown Komenda. A honorary lap at the roundabout included.
Cool!
Dinner today again with our neighbors. Really very nice and delicious! Hmm, the wine.
Stay tuned
