The Geltinger Birk Nature Reserve is located on the northeastern tip of Angel's in Schleswig-Holstein and was the destination of our trip on this beautiful winter day.
We started our walk at the parking lot of the Mühle Charlotte, which has been standing on Gelting Bay since 1826.
The path initially led directly along the water.
Then we walked through a small forest with gnarled, twisted trees to meadows.
There we encountered some Konik horses that curiously approached the walkers.
The varied path continued around the Baserotter Noor.
There we crossed a wooden bridge with the sonorous name 'Meta Norgaardts Brüch'.
The water level was not only low, but even frozen solid.
Past fields, the path led us back to the starting point.
