Namibia 2024: The Farewell
While I am writing our last blog entry of this trip, we are already sitting on the train from Frankfurt Airport to Dortmund.
We had a nice breakfast in Kambaku.
We then packed our suitcases, which was super quick with our new packing system.
Then we had to vacate the room too.
So we pack everything into our 4x4 Toyota for the last time.
We toasted our little adventure with a glass of champagne at the Boma.
Now it’s time to say goodbye!
It’s a very strange feeling,
We always knew over the last few days that the next African adventure was waiting for us.
Now the plane to Germany is waiting for us and then the Deutsche Bahn adventure🫣
The rest is quickly told!
After 4 hours of leisurely Tart Road we arrive at Windhoek Airport.
Kristina heads to the gas station, fills up the car and returns it across the street to AVIS.
Checking in for the flight was also quick.
We just had to wait until Susi and Carsten’s suitcases finally disappeared over the baggage carousel.
Sometimes the tape worked and sometimes it didn't!!
We wanted to see with our own eyes that the suitcases were at least apparently flying with us 🤦♂️
Our plane was supposed to take off at 6:50 p.m., but it didn't quite make it on time.
However, we landed in Frankfurt at 5:20 a.m.
Germany welcomed us with torrential rain and 12 degrees.
My goodness, we really didn't miss that.
The last rail adventure wasn't an adventure at all, everything worked out on time.
It was a wonderful time with many fantastic African moments.
All these moments are now firmly anchored in our memories.
Thank you Africa, today is not every day, we will be back no question!!
