The routes are being planned

Nai-publish: 04.09.2017

Thank God we live in a time where maps don't play a big role anymore. Nowadays, navigation systems, Google Maps, and countless other software programs dominate, making it easier for us to plan such a tour.

I'm planning with myRoutApp, a really good software that I can use on my phone, laptop, and PC at the same time. Together with my TomTom, it's a really good choice.

We want to start in July 2018, first together with our wives, the motorhome, and a motorcycle trailer to Heiligenhafen, our starting point for the motorcycles.

We'll save ourselves the 820km on our highways.

We have rented the motorhome privately, as well as the trailer.

We leave the trailer at our starting point in Hamburg, and we will also drive back here as the final destination. Thank God we have old friends who have spread all over the world, just like the trailer park. Here lives my old friend 'Gummi' Michael Broß, formerly from Langhurst, now a 'Fischkopf' (fish head).

From Heiligenhafen, we will go to the North Cape through Sweden, Finland, and Norway, and back only through Norway, Sweden, Heiligenhafen, and back home.

We only want to use paved and well-traveled roads, as our motorcycles are not suitable for other terrains. We could use our wives and the motorhome as an excuse, but we stand by our machines.

So now I'm sitting at the PC and planning, together with myRoutApp, Google, and the internet, I'm working out our route and the individual stages.

We want to drive about 430km per day to cover the entire route, which is about 5600km long for the motorcycle tour. Whether we can always make that or whether we sometimes drive less or more, we will see. We always have our hotel with us, so no stress.

The total distance is 7300km, and the time we plan is 3 weeks.
