Castelló de la Plana (in Spanish Castellón de la Plana and officially Castelló de la Plana/Castellón de la Plana) is a city and municipality in Spain, the capital of the province of Castelló/Castellón, in the Comunitat Valenciana (Spain, Europe). It is also regarded as the capital of the comarca of Plana Alta and serves as the head of the judicial district, which is judicial district No. 1 of the province of Castelló/Castellón.

According to data from the INE for the year 2023, the municipality has a population of 176,238 inhabitants and a surface area of 111.33 km². The municipality of Castellón is divided between the city itself, located inland, and the coastal and port area known as the Grao de Castellón (in Valencian the Grau de Castelló), where the popular Planetarium of Castellón is also located and where boats can be rented for excursions to the famous Columbretes Islands, which belong to the same municipality of Castelló de la Plana/Castellón de la Plana.

The beautiful Concatedral de Castelló de la Plana is dedicated to Santa María; its construction began in 1940 and was completed in 2009 under the direction of Vicente Traver Tomás, along with his son and grandson.
