A day that was planned as a day of relaxation and yet turned out very differently. After being woken up by the familiar screams of Chinese children shortly after 7am, the start of the day was immediately spoiled. Around noon, we made our way to 'our' kiosk to get some food. There, the owner showed us a Vietnamese specialty, Sugar Cane Juice. It is so delicious that I would now rank it among the top 3 best drinks I have ever had - and all for 5,000 Dong (20 cents). I believe it's also because of this drink that the kiosk is so popular. In the afternoon, we returned to the pool, where we were supposed to get a massage at 5pm. However, the pool was once again taken over by a horde of screaming Chinese children, who had a great time shooting other holidaymakers and us with their water guns. These few children made ten times more noise than any kindergarten in Germany, and the parents have about as much knowledge of education and assertiveness as an ant has of paddling a boat. After this being the 4th day in a row where the pool area was practically inaccessible, we had enough. We promptly cancelled the massage because we didn't feel like getting massaged in a children's playground. At the same time, we vented our complete frustration at the reception (of course in perfect English 🙈) and threatened to check out early. Because the hotel was described as quiet and a perfect place for relaxation, not as a playground for kids on ecstasy. The receptionist understood our anger but initially didn't know how to help. After a short time to think, she offered us the hotel suite, which is not necessarily quieter but quite luxurious. In addition, she promised us that the noisy families would leave the day after tomorrow. So we made the deal and hope that there will finally be some peace and quiet in 2 days at the latest.
After the evening workout, we tried to cool down our spirits and not let our holiday be spoiled.
