The Medina of Marrakesh - many vendors, lots of impressions, and the monkeys, snakes, and horses that are unfortunately exploited for tourist purposes. :(
The loud and colorful hustle and bustle on the Djemaa el Fna square in the evenings is interesting. There is also a film festival taking place at the same time. Even though I walk around alone, I feel safe as there are police everywhere. When my Couchsurfing host Ayoub returns from his photoshoot, I meet up with him and his friends for an after-work beer in Gueliz.
Ayoub lives in a very touristy area right next to the famous Jardin Majorelle, where I make a detour the next morning at 9 am to avoid the queues that form there during the day. The garden is beautifully landscaped, but not so wow that I want to spend time there with hundreds of Chinese tourists.
Until my bus leaves for Essaouira in the afternoon, I sit down in a cafe with my laptop to catch up on some work.
