In the afternoon, we continued our journey to the inland of Bali to Ubud. Upon arrival, we checked in at the hostel and admired our view of the jungle. Then we went for a walk, planned for 1 hour but ended up lasting 3 hours for us. We saw countless temples, rice terraces, and palm trees. Both of us were impressed by the views and the surroundings, simply enjoying every minute. Afterwards, we deserved a meal and then headed to bed. The next morning started very early, our alarm rang at 1:30 am. The plan was to go on a sunrise tour to Mount Batur, an active volcano in the north of Bali. Our bus departed at 2 am and we spent 1 hour on the bus to the north, where we had coffee and pancakes to wake up. Then the hike with the hundreds of other tourists began. Quickly, we realized that we wouldn't do it again. It was very touristy and walking for 2 hours behind hundreds of tourists, especially in the dark, was quite exhausting. But we arrived at the top just in time for the sunrise and were able to enjoy it in its full length and beauty. A local tour guide even grabbed his guitar and played music. This moment could hardly have been better, except for the other tourists around us. After the sunrise, we looked at the volcano's crater and tried to stay away from the monkeys. Then we went back down to the bus and visited a coffee plantation. There, we had a coffee tasting of various local coffees. After that, we really headed back to the hostel and took a nap. All in all, it was a successful morning! An hour later, we were full of motivation again and hopped on our scooter to continue exploring the area. Our first stop was the famous rice terraces, but after our extensive walk yesterday, they didn't impress us as much. What was more impressive was the journey to our next stop, a waterfall. We drove through villages, over bumpy roads, and passed through remote places. We could observe the lives of the locals and got many beautiful impressions. To reach the waterfall, we had to walk through a gorge and down hundreds of steps, then back up after a quick cool down in the waterfall. After another waterfall, where we also went swimming, we only went for food and then to bed. The next day was a bit calmer, and unfortunately, it was already the day of our departure from Ubud. We treated ourselves to a delicious breakfast and then headed to the bus and the ferry to Gili T. ๐ซถ๐ผ
