Waterfalls and elephants...

It's really great weather. Sun and hardly any clouds, so there is also a low chance of rain.
That's why we first go to the pool/beach. But only for a short refreshment.

We want to go to the Klong Plu waterfall and take a pickup taxi for 300 baht. There are lots of vendors on the parking lot in front of the national park that surrounds the waterfall, who want to sell us drinks and what do we do? We walk without drinks.
Pretty silly with a temperature of 35°C and 95% humidity. It's only 800 meters to the waterfall, but the path through the Thai jungle goes uphill and downhill, over rocks and stones, along a river. It's really beautiful but we are thirsty after just a few meters and curse our stupidity.

After what feels like an eternity, we reach the rocky plateau from which we can see the waterfall. The view is really great.

People are swimming in the pool below the waterfall but of course we don't have swimwear on and swimming in fresh water is not necessarily recommended in Southeast Asian countries.

The way back feels almost twice as long as the way there. Maybe it's because we (feelingly) almost died of thirst. When we arrive back at the parking lot, the first thing we have to do is buy something to drink and then we discover our taxi driver who has been waiting for us.

Next stop: elephants. There are elephant camps all over Koh Chang, the island is called Elephant Island for a reason.

For 50 baht I can feed and pet the elephants. I'm having a blast. Jules takes photos because he respects the big animals. The elephants hang their trunks in the little basket with bananas and pineapples and let themselves be petted. Such beautiful gentle giants. I'm completely thrilled and smiling from ear to ear.

Our last evening on Koh Chang has arrived, tomorrow we will continue to Koh Mak.
