Ecuador / Galapagos Islands - Day 5 - Charles Darwin Station and Tortuga Bay

Nai-publish: 01.01.2017

Today the day started very early as we took the first speedboat at 5 o'clock to Isabella Island. After a 3-hour journey, we finally arrived and recovered from the hardships with a decent breakfast. After breakfast, we went to the Charles Darwin Station where various turtle species are bred and raised. We saw many turtles, some with long necks and others with elephant feet. We were real animal researchers!

After lunch, we headed towards Tortuga Bay. A 2.5 km long beautiful white sandy beach lay before us. Unfortunately, swimming is not possible here as the current is too strong. That's why we moved a little further and arrived at another bay to swim a little there.

On the way back, a bunch of small crabs emerged from their holes on the beach and, of course, there were a bunch of iguanas to see again. As it was already 6 o'clock, we decided to spend the evening at the hotel.

End of Day 5.
