Yesterday we went on a trip to the Faros of Pervolia, a small lighthouse from the British era. A little history lesson: In 1878, the Ottoman Empire leased Cyprus to the British, and the island became a protectorate until its independence on August 16, 1960.
The lighthouse is really small and stands with some outbuildings on a beautiful property. Unfortunately, it looks quite dilapidated, which is a real pity. I would move in there straightaway, as I always dreamed of a career as a lighthouse keeper when I was a child.
By the way, I could hardly find any information about the tower, at least not in a language I understand. Only so much, that there are supposed to be several shipwrecks off the coast. I wonder if the lighthouse keeper back then may have looked too deep into the wine jug and forgotten to turn on the light.
