Before we start our journey to the north, a visit to the city center is of course still on the program.
You can get a great view of the skyline from Mount Victoria - Thanks Greg for this tip ;), you were right about that!
Our 'Wish' takes us comfortably to the ferry, which takes us towards Downtown - unfortunately the weather is not really playing along on this Saturday... Well, apparently typical Auckland (rain, clouds, wind - but still not really cold and when the sun comes out you have to take off your jacket immediately; which apparently prompts the local ladies to constantly wear mini-skirts, summer dresses and hot pants) ;)
We stroll through THE shopping mile, the Queensstreet, where one luxury store is followed by another, followed by countless Chinese, Japanese and Korean specialties (possibly including the smallest snack bar we have ever seen - see photo).
Finally, we arrive at our destination - 'Odettes Eatery'. There we can still get a table and so we enjoy a brunch with coffee, wine, fried eggs with avocado, fresh salmon with cucumber and peas, and to round it off, a vanilla crepe with ice cream and orange topping - Delicious ;)!
Well nourished, thanks to the Viereck crew, we make the final preparations for our road trip to the north, where our first Wwoofing station awaits us in Waitata Bay.
We spend the Guy Fawkes night together with Babsi and Greg! Many thanks to both of you for the incredible support and help, as well as for your hospitality and insider tips about New Zealand :)
