Unfortunately, the mattress of the bed was rock hard and as a result, sleep was quite restless. It wouldn't have been so tragic in itself, but we were still struggling with a cold, fever, and stomach problems, and a restful night would have been beneficial. After breakfast, we headed back to Salta. One of the car's headlights was out, and since we had several kilometers ahead of us and didn't want to deal with any drama, we quickly stopped by the car rental to have it fixed. To fuel up for the next hour and a half drive, we grabbed some Empanadas in the center of Salta. As the direct way to Cachi was too far for a stretch, we spontaneously decided to make a stop in Chicoana. We spent the afternoon in the hotel room, needing a little break. Our bodies were probably overwhelmed by the many changing influences of the past few weeks and were completely rebelling. With constant traveling, tons of new impressions, and few breaks, we hardly found any rest. So, we decided to take it easy and relax a bit in the coming days.
In the evening, we only managed a short trip to the kiosk, where, once again, the locals marveled (or laughed) at us for our height.
