There is a national park for Guanacos, Pumas and especially penguins right next to the highway. These penguins come ashore here to hatch their eggs and raise their young. When we were there, the 'little' ones were already quite big. On the footpath, you can get really close to the penguins, they seem to be used to it and were not very impressed by us.
There are also many pumas living in the national park who like to have a penguin snack from time to time, which is why there are many warning signs on the footpaths. Jonas and I have extensively practiced how to behave in case of emergency, which earned us quite a few surprised looks from the park rangers, but hey, safety first!
