13.12.19 - Byron Bay

It was a rainy day at Surfers Paradise so we decided to leave early for Byron Bay. 

Checked in to Wake Hostel Byron Bay at noon and went to the city for a late lunch. Spending time Tara and Mathias just felt great. 

Byron Bay is a special place. Street music everywhere, streets are next to the ocean, a lot of tiny restaurants and clubs... 

Finally some techno again. 

A few clubs even provide a tap and cups for free water refill. Never felt tired and dehydrated when partying.

Quick stop at Nimbin. Nothing special to mention. 

Spent one evening at Byron Bay Lighthouse for the sunset. A symbolic place since it’s the most easterly point of Australia. 

Went for a Kayaking with dolphins tour in the morning. Didn’t see any dolphins so we got a free lifelong voucher for another tour. Still a good workout. 

Saying goodbye to Tara and Thomas after 4 days together felt like saying goodbye to a good old friend. 

Questioning solo traveling again everyday. So many ups and downs. It’s about being open not only for new things and places but also people everyday.
