After endless back and forth considering whether I should take a 'little trip' over the 'big pond' during the holidays or not, fortunately the decision turned out to be positive after all...
So, it starts on Tuesday morning at around 2:00 a.m., this time by car. Flight from Frankfurt to Vancouver departs at 10:10 a.m., arrival in Canada is then at local time 11:25 a.m.
After a 2-day stay, I will take the train (I'm just a railroad person through and through) to Seattle, Washington, USA. After spending another 2 days there, I will pick up the rental car on Saturday and then drive a mere 940 km to Klamath, CA. There I will visit the Redwoods National Park.
After that, the journey will steadily continue down the West Coast to the south, passing through San Francisco and Los Angeles, of course with corresponding stops.
From L.A., I will then make a detour to Las Vegas and from there continue to the Grand Canyon. I will reach my destination San Diego on December 30th, after visiting Joshua Tree National Park.
Return flight is on January 2nd, 15:05 local time from San Diego.
I expect an exciting journey with countless impressions and will keep you informed here.
Stay tuned….
Jeff
