Berwick - stage goal reached - bye bye Scotland

On the last day it rained heavily at night, my two buddies are waiting for me in the morning in full rain gear - I hesitate to leave for another half an hour, the rain stops and we start cycling. Soon, it's too warm for them under their rain clothes, they take off their clothes. After a short time, we have to improvise, a pedestrian bridge is closed due to construction work, we take the red diversion directly by the water (the yellow one seems too easy to us), after a kilometer the path gets narrower, there are stairs, small bridges, we carry the bikes over rocks and stones. We can't go any further, going back is not an option, the two of us push one bike up the hill and end up on a farm, friendly donkeys greet us. A solid road takes us back to the beginning of the tour. We learned something on the last day in Scotland, the red diversion was for pedestrians, the yellow diversion was for cyclists.

Everything comes to an end, on Wednesday we arrived in England, quite unspectacular, a river is the border, the England sign is hardly visible and almost overgrown.

We reach the coast again and cycle directly or immediately along the water, old castles are relatively close together, the signage is also good.

Tomorrow we will be in New Castle, the first major city in England, the weather is great, not too hot, ideal for cycling, there is also a tailwind.
