Flight Sydney - Bangkok

Nai-publish: 13.02.2018

On Saturday, we were supposed to fly from Sydney to Bangkok with the Airbus 330 shortly after 10 AM. This is the longest flight of the journey, taking over 9 hours. For the first 5 hours of the flight, we were flying over Australia. Due to a medical emergency on the flight from Shanghai to Sydney, our aircraft had to be cleaned thoroughly. As a result, boarding didn't start until 1:40 PM. We were quite annoyed after 7 hours of waiting at the airport. Fortunately, we brought some breakfast with us (sushi and fruits) because the airport didn't have good food options for us.

The flight with Qantas was very good as always. The pre-ordered gluten-free meal was delicious and there were no issues. For lunch, we had a fish curry with rice, bread with butter, a piece of cake, and dried fruits. As a snack, we had cookies, apples, and popsicles. Shortly before landing, we were served a burger and an apple. We were always well-fed and happy. Everything was individually packaged and clearly labeled as gluten-free. The drink menu was also impressive. We enjoyed some Australian rum with cola.

Upon landing in Bangkok, we had to wait for another 1 1/2 hours at the immigration point. There were too many tourists and too few workers. We were just relieved when we finally reached our accommodation by taxi.
