The last days in Greenland suddenly went by quickly. And we didn't miss anything. First, we went on a hike along the Kangia Fjord. Not only was the fjord filled with icebergs impressive once again. We also passed the former settlement of Sermermiut, where Inuit settled over 2000 years ago!
After much back and forth, we finally decided: a round trip in a small airplane over the fjord and the inland ice. It left us speechless! It all looks even more extreme from above.
On Sunday we boarded the passenger ship Sarfaq Ittuk, also a popular means of transportation for Greenlanders, and sailed south along the coast for a day and a half. As a grand finale, we saw another Northern Lights spectacle on the second night. In Nuuk, we saw the first traffic jam in Greenland: about 20 cars were waiting at an intersection!
The next day we went to Copenhagen - goodbye Simone :-( - and then continued towards the Caribbean. Meanwhile, we are in Havana and still in the process of getting settled, the culture shock is not to be underestimated. The internet is a bit difficult here, let's see if we can manage another post before Colombia.
