Put Foot Rally 2019

Nai-publish: 21.05.2019

The Idea, the Why

In May 2018, Facebook showed me a post about the Put Foot Rally. Me, that's me, the leader Taschi. The idea of this rally was exactly up my alley. Driving through six African countries in a car without knowing what would happen, and doing some good at the same time. Giving shoes to children in Africa! What could be better than traveling into the unknown and also on my absolute favorite continent. I definitely had to participate!

The Recruitment

I needed a crew. So I quickly thought about which of my friends would be as crazy as me and willing to join. I sent links to the rally to like-minded people and waited. Of course, it didn't take long and my sister, Nessness, was on board. And lo and behold, my two favorite chickens also wanted to join. Lena and Beatata, both of whom I met in Australia, now live in Switzerland. What a perfect crew, this can only be great!

What is it about

From June 15th, 2019, we will be driving through Africa for three weeks in a Toyota Hilux with two tents on the roof. It starts in Cape Town, South Africa, then through Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique. In each country, there is a checkpoint that we have to reach. Of course, there will be celebrations at each checkpoint, and in between, we will visit selected schools and bring shoes to the children. We are completely on our own and have to plan and finance everything ourselves. The journey is the goal!

Financing the Shoes

If you want to help or know someone who wants to help, here is our link: https://www.givengain.com/ap/shoemasters/

All donations go directly to the Put Foot Foundation in South Africa, which then buys shoes with it and distributes them to the children.

Follow our trip here on this page, share it as often as you can, and we will reward you with many great pictures and stories!
