Today, we are already looking forward to not having to pay anything for the campsite, when someone from the staff comes to collect just before our departure - we pay a reasonable 270 kronor (27€) and then head towards Dyrön Island, where we have a hike planned.
Once there, we waste too much time looking for parking for our monster, changing clothes, quickly feeding the hungry mouths, and the last ferry before lunch break leaves right in front of us. Now that we would have to wait 90 minutes, we decide to skip the hike, as we still have 3 hours of driving ahead of us. It's a shame, it would have been a great experience in terms of scenery.
The kids are happy (yay, no hiking!) and so we head straight to Mellby, the longest sandy beach in Sweden. We sit down at the beach restaurant and get a somewhat typical Swedish meal for the first time - shrimp sandwich (räksmörgås) - and plenty of it, along with a Swedish oil for 79 kronor.
In the evening, we enjoy the sunset over the Baltic Sea (around 21:30, already dark in Austria). The dune landscape adds to the romantic atmosphere.
