David is sleeping restlessly, so my night is not that good. The sun is shining and the mountain that was still hidden yesterday is now shining brightly. So we decide to drive to Paradise again to get the full view. We would love to hike higher, but the rangers advise against it due to the snow. The hike up is too dangerous. We see many experienced climbers who dare to do it. Erik plays in the snow and then we go back down the mountain. In Longmire, we make a second attempt for a hike. Erik is being difficult and gets his fingers caught in the screen door. He screams and we treat him with water and ice to cool it down. Fortunately, nothing is broken. He still looks pale, so we let him rest for a while. The hike is canceled. After a while, we continue and each buy the boys a black bear. There is a small museum in town that we visit. After lunch, we start our 3-hour drive towards Olympic National Park. The distance is too much, so we stay overnight in between. We are at a small campground by a river. There are only 15 spots, so it is quiet and manageable. David sleeps almost the entire drive, which becomes a problem for me in the evening. He doesn't want to go to bed until 9:30. Three-quarters of an hour later, we also go to bed.
