Today the sun is shining again, the morning is still fresh but the distant view is beautiful. In the valley, misty clouds are still observable.
We have breakfast with the golfers. Most of them are going home today, and we will stay here until November 9th.
After a few eventful days on the golf course, we are taking a relaxed rest day today at the beautiful beach of Palamós. The fine sand, the gentle sound of the sea, and the Mediterranean sun invite us to relax. Perfect for letting the soul dangle and letting the eyes wander over the clear water.
The beach of Palamós, Platja Gran, is about 1.5 kilometers long.
The corresponding promenade extends along the beach and offers a beautiful view of the sea. Here one can stroll leisurely. The beach cafes have partly already gone into winter hibernation, but we found an open restaurant right by the sandy beach and enjoyed the maritime atmosphere with tapas.
Along the beautiful promenade, various statues stand. One caught our eye in particular, the sculpture of the fishing family. It is a significant monument symbolizing the close connection of the town to fishing. This bronze sculpture represents a family – a fisherman, his wife, and their child – honoring the long tradition of fishing that is deeply rooted in Palamós.
For centuries, Palamós was an important fishing port on the Costa Brava, and this sculpture represents the hard work and daily efforts of the fishing families who relied on this trade. It is a tribute to the past and simultaneously a symbol of the town's identity.
Besides this sculpture, there are also other artworks and monuments along the promenade of Palamós that reflect the history and culture of the region.
The beach of Palamós was an ideal place today to recharge energy and simply enjoy the beauty of the Costa Brava.
Since we need to cater for ourselves again starting tonight, we are going shopping on the way back. Instead of playing golf, we play cards and enjoy the beautiful sunset from our balcony.
