How NOT to start a vacation

Our MARC
Our MA-RC

Friday afternoon 5:00 PM - our little red speedster is finally at the door. We didn't have to look for a name. The license plate already named him MARC :-)

7:00 PM - MARC was loaded and fueled up. Ready to go for the road trip. We had to say goodbye to our loved ones who came by just before we left. A quick dinner and off we went...

Saturday 4:30 AM - we kept the planned departure time. So far, everything was going according to plan. Our GPS showed an arrival time in Vejle, Denmark, at 1:15 PM.

Saturday 8:30 AM - the German highway authority wanted to throw a wrench in our plans. AND IT SUCCEEDED. 4 hours for 12 km. That's all we could do. Fortunately, we had everything we needed. So we took advantage of the closure and enjoyed a picnic.

Saturday 1:00 PM - MARC is moving again. No more highway authority to get in the way, but it took us 12.5 hours to get to Hamburg.

Even the construction sites around Hamburg went smoothly. However, our destination Vejle was no longer an option. Especially after the information we received from the friendly lady at the campsite on the phone. It had been pouring rain in Denmark all day, and no campers could drive onto the sites. Everything was flooded.

Saturday 7:30 PM - After changing our plans, we finally arrived at the overnight accommodation near Flensburg. Will Glücksburg become our new motto from now on? We'll find out.

Saturday 10:00 PM - MARC is parked and ready for the night. Just like us. Exhausted from the day, we went to bed after a light meal and a hot shower.

Sunday 6:15 AM - Departure from Glücksburg. Everything was going according to plan. We arrived at the ferry on time, and it was no problem to drive MARC onto the ferry.

Sunday 11:45 AM - Now we say goodbye (otherwise Theresa might get sick on the ferry)

See you soon, Nina and Theresa
