From our cozy parking on the outskirts, it's only 3km to the lively center of Patras. We take the bike and quickly realize that we're the only ones. What bicycles are in a city like Amsterdam or Freiburg, scooters are here. Lots of traffic on the streets. Beep, beep.
The center, or pedestrian zone, is surprisingly spacious. Stylish cafés and fashion stores are lined up. If you're looking for new shoes, you're sure to find them in one of the 400 shoe stores.
Don't miss out on a good café in a sunny and lively city atmosphere. The many modern restaurants and cafés are also really crowded, and you get an impression of the chic and relaxed lifestyle of the people in this city. At the same time, the city hardly feels touristy. On a day like today, it's probably mainly the locals who enjoy being part of a lively city where the sun is shining and you enjoy having your espresso outside in one of the chic and inviting cafés.
The Greek Orthodox Church, Agios Andreas, is also only a few minutes' walk from the bustling pedestrian zone. An extremely impressive building, both because of its magnificent architecture and the extraordinary atmosphere that fills the interior of the church. Here you can admire exquisite mosaic images, fascinating wall paintings, and lots of bling bling.
In the evening, we only go shopping and cook.
There's a tattoo appointment scheduled for tomorrow. It worked out spontaneously...
