There is nothing quieter than a loaded cannon. (Heinrich Heine)

After a leisurely sleep and a hearty breakfast, we went to the market square in Helsinki, which is also the harbor. We then took a small boat trip to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Suomenlinna, a fortress on several islands off Helsinki with a rich history. This fortress was originally built by Sweden, then conquered by Russia and finally used by the Finnish military until 1973. The view from the boat or from the fortress over the entire harbor and the city is truly fantastic.

Back on the mainland, we went to the cathedral, which we couldn't visit yesterday due to a wedding.

After a final walk through the city center, we returned to our apartment. We are now packing our backpacks and tomorrow we will get up early and take a 400-kilometer bus ride to the east. We discarded our original plan to take the Allegro train (a high-speed train). Three hours faster and over 200 euros more expensive, it didn't make sense for us - especially since we also want to see some of the landscape. We will surely take enough train rides on this trip... When we cross the Russian border, we will have to say goodbye to both mobile internet and the Euro. Only the time zone will remain the same (Berlin +1).

Last greetings from Finland
