Tomorrow morning we are going to Babusar Pass (4173m) to enjoy the sunrise and the view of the Himalayas.
But let's start from the beginning:
On Sunday, after the birthday party, we took the train and Flixbus to Prague at 1:35. At 11:00, I boarded the plane to Riyadh, to directly transfer to Islamabad from there. However, the connecting flight was booked separately, including checking in and out the luggage. Unfortunately, the more than 3 hours of transfer time were not sufficient, because I had to buy an expensive visa for the entry and exit of Saudi Arabia (a lot of bureaucracy!). By the time I was done with everything, my connecting flight was already closed...
Tip: It's better to travel through Doha than Riyadh with Flynas and not to book 2 separate flights! Luggage should be checked through directly.
But that should not stop me from continuing my journey. The start of our journey almost failed, so I quickly bought a new ticket at the counter to Islamabad via Doha. Qatar Airways is definitely recommendable!
Tired, I arrived in Islamabad and was warmly welcomed by Patrie, my best friend. Our journey together could start :)
So we first walked through the less touristy, but very green Islamabad.
Then we took the bus and taxi to Kaghan Valley via Mansehra.
The journey there was incredibly impressive because of the people. They are so open-minded and friendly, to each other and to us! There is no wealth to be discovered, but still we were invited 4 times: for a chai, cookies in the taxi, dinner and a hotel stay. We are so grateful to be here and to receive this incredible hospitality! As Europeans, we can definitely learn a lot from this openness, helpfulness and friendliness.
After 2 very short nights, we are now looking forward to being able to gather new strength. But the anticipation for the upcoming hikes and the next adventures is even greater :)
