Finally here 😊

We land in Brisbane, it takes forever to get to the immigration counter.

Only one counter for a huge airplane.... Kids crying everywhere, it's really exhausting. Once we're out of there, our suitcases are thankfully already there and the shuttle driver we booked is also there. Poor guy had to wait for a long time.

We sleep in the car. The transfer takes about 2 hours.

We get off at the agreed meeting point and wait for Daniel and Heike, whom we soon find. Nice to see Daniel again. His hair and beard have grown. He's become more tan and blond, but thankfully he's still the same old Daniel.

Heike drives us around Byron Bay and shows us roughly where we are. She also shows us a few beautiful lookouts where we can see the beach. It's strange, after such a long flight and time difference, you don't really notice it.

Afterwards, she takes us to the accommodation, which we unfortunately booked wrong due to a misunderstanding, and Mika and I can get some sleep while Daniel goes to work.

After waking up, Heike picks us up and shows us Lennox Head and her home. Daniel comes there after work too. We go to the beach almost in the dark, get some fish and chips somewhere, and then take a taxi back home.

Mika and I lie awake for hours at night, good thing Daniel stayed with Heike.

We're hungry and make ourselves something to eat. Eventually, we can sleep again.
