3rd day after Achenkirch

Nai-publish: 06.07.2019

Fortunately, Barbara's hand was much better than yesterday, so we could go hiking!

The weather was great! Sunshine and a maximum temperature of 29 degrees.

Shortly before 9 o'clock, we were picked up by the bus and taken to Wildbad Kreuth, where we ended yesterday's tour. Quite a lot of people on the bus. But Barbara and I quickly started walking and left the rest behind.

And then the ascent began! A narrow path led up, sometimes very steep and rocky. We already had sore muscles from yesterday, so it was quite difficult. But it was incredibly beautiful! Again and again, we had a wide view of the mountains, some of them still covered in snow.

Our first destination was the Blaubergalm. After 820 meters of altitude over 8 km, we arrived there after nearly 3 hours. Along the way, there was another alpine hut that was not open to the public, so we had to walk through the cow herd.

At the Blaubergalm, we had a cheese plate and delicious spritzer. The break felt good!

Afterwards, we went back down towards Achenkirch. Unfortunately, it was a boring wide path, always downhill. We were supposed to walk that path for 9 km and then take the bus. Not with us! Instead, we walked with the navigation system all the way to the hotel - instead of 17 km, it turned out to be 25 km with a total of 1026 meters of altitude. The last kilometers were tough 😬.

As soon as we arrived at the hotel (Sportpension Geisler), it started raining heavily. Lucky us 😀.

But unfortunately, it's supposed to storm all day tomorrow. Let's see if we can still go for a run!
