The first week flew by, we did various things and gradually got used to Ghanaian life.
Since we had so much fun with the kids during our first school visit, we were invited to make music together. We prepared two songs at home: 'Brother John' in English and French, and 'If you're happy', which we sang and danced to.
Unfortunately, we only had an hour because Emma had a hairdressing appointment to get 'Braids' done. Hélène, an acquaintance of Laud, worked on Emma's head for four hours and created a Ghanaian hairstyle.
Afterwards, we showed off Emma's wonderful Braids and spent the evening together with Matilda (a volunteer) and Bright (a young teacher from the school).
We started our first trip to the beach feeling slightly hungover. Together with Matilda and Justice (Laud's older brother), we drove towards Ada Foah. This is where the Volta River flows into the Atlantic Ocean. We stayed in huts made of palm leaves, sipped coconut water, and enjoyed the sun on our bellies. The conditions of the 'sanitary facilities' were so incredibly bad, that we reached our limit in this regard.
P.S.: We had to fetch the flushing water for the toilets from a well, which the other hut residents apparently didn't understand :).
After a delicious breakfast overlooking the Volta River and more hours of sun and swimming fun, we headed back to Teyman.
Laud was already waiting for us at home, as he wanted to take us to a festival in his hometown, Aburi. Quick shower, fancy outfits, and six of us in the car to Aburi. When we arrived, the party was already in full swing. African beats and the smell of water pipes filled the air, and we wove our way through the dancing crowd to an open-air club. Enthralled by the rhythmic music, we threw ourselves into the crowd and were suddenly surprised by *** dance moves. See the following link and see for yourself:

This song has been very popular in Ghana for about three months and people dance to it everywhere and in every situation.
We had a very fun evening and slept like babies after dancing so much.
