Township cycling tour

Nai-publish: 05.11.2019

Yesterday after kindergarten we went to the second largest township in South Africa called Khayelitsha.

We booked a guided bicycle tour through the township.

It was just the two of us and two guides on the tour. The two guys were really funny, so the tour was really cool :)

We started at our meeting point where the guide Siya told us something about the history of the township.

It was very interesting to hear how the township came about.

After the short introduction, we set off with the bikes.

We made various stops, including at the Sikis Café. That was a really nice café for a township. Then we continued through a market, which consists mostly of containers.

Our last stop was at a restaurant where we got food. There was different meat, chakalaka, and fufu.

After eating, we rode back to the starting point and said goodbye to the two guides.

It was very interesting to see how people live there, and we had a lot of fun with the two tour guides.

Chakalaka und Fufu? Hört sich zumindest gut an - hoffentlich hat es auch geschmeckt :-))
