About Diekirch, with a one-hour stopover in Hulgange, we finally arrive at our destination. Welcome to Belgium. Many thanks to Soraya, who safely took us through Beaufort.
The rural area remains with us. Unfortunately, the reception at the youth hostel was not occupied. Without further ado, we stored our luggage and went back to town. Looking for a typical Belgian waffle, we ended up at Palazzo. The waffles were nowhere to be found in a hurry. After dinner, we went to the confectionery to take home some typical chocolates. Also a Rijstaart (rice cake with milk). We first took up the rooms at the youth hostel. The cosmopolitan and gender-neutral facilities (two rooms share a shower and the toilet is in the corridor) offer all kinds of cultural encounters. The corridor is extensively used as a playground by the children present. New contacts are quickly made with the English and French languages. In the room, we opened the box of chocolates. Surprising and unknown taste experiences were guaranteed when tasting.
