Day 14 - Exploring Öland and Orrefors

Julkaistu: 20.08.2017

After breakfast outside, we set off a bit late to explore Öland.

On the way to the Långe Jan lighthouse in the south of Öland, we passed by Eketorp Castle. It is a fortress that dates back to the Iron Age. The wall and houses have been reconstructed directly on the excavation site. Since we were there in the off-season, there weren't as many activities available and the animals were already gone.

After a challenging climb, we were rewarded with a great view.

On the way back, we encountered some obstacles on the road.

Then we left the island and drove to Orrefors, where we wanted to visit the glassworks. Unfortunately, it was too late, so we ended up at a very nice campsite run by two Germans, as Lara really wanted to see it.

We got a spot in the first row.

There was also a boat available, so my two went out after dinner......and didn't come back empty-handed.

Richie caught a 70cm pike, which was then taken and frozen.
