Snowfall, car rental, and supermarkets

Julkaistu: 15.04.2018

Currently, I am in Kingston. Unfortunately, an unusual snowfall for this time of year even in Canada has caught up with me. After picking up the rental car, a Jeep Wrangler, at the airport in Toronto, freezing rain began. On the drive to Kingston, many cars were already in the ditch, but I made it to my destination without any incidents. I had planned to see some sights along the way, but then decided against it and went straight to my accommodation. Unfortunately, it hasn't gotten any better overnight, and the temperatures are freezing, so today's trip to the city of Kingston was canceled as well. I left the car today and only went to the supermarket on foot. But what does 'only' mean. Supermarkets in Canada are amazing, and you can spend hours looking at everything. I was particularly impressed by their sushi selection. Especially since sushi in Canada is relatively affordable compared to Germany, and so I have already had supermarket sushi three times for dinner. It's hard to imagine with all the snow and ice right now that just three days ago, I was sitting in the park in Toronto in the evening eating my sushi. Tomorrow, I will continue to Ottawa, let's see how I remove my car from the thick layer of ice... it remains exciting! Oh, and tonight I will treat myself to a beer for the derby win... Blue and white for life ;)
