In Tirana we stayed 2 nights in a 24-hour parking lot, which was conveniently located, quiet at night, equipped with toilets, and had very friendly operators who made our stay enjoyable. From here, we explored the city on foot, which represents a strong contrast to the rest of the country. It is modern, cosmopolitan, young, and a bit alternative. There are many beautiful cafés, green spaces, and it is very impressive that religions coexist peacefully here. Next to the mosque in the main square is the bell tower with the Christian cross, the muezzin chants alternate with bells, and it is also mentioned in various articles on the internet that marriage between Muslims and Christians is not uncommon here, as few strictly practice their religion. That is beautiful and many European countries could learn from it.
Not much more needs to be said about Tirana, except that it is definitely worth a visit (there are even direct flights from Leipzig!) and just take a look at the photos :)
